Abstract
The paper provides a comparative analysis of public and private sector personal accidental insurance in India using secondary data. It examines growth, policies sold, premium collection and competition in the sector. The Mann-Whitney U-test is applied to establish differences in the growth of public and private sector insurance, with the study highlighting the increasing role and opportunities of private insurance companies.
