  • 1 Vidarbha Arthashastra Parishad was formed at Nagpur in the year 1970–71. It is the oldest association of economics lecturers in Central India. Since its inception, the Parishad has regularly organized annual conferences at various places in Vidarbha.
  • 2 In 2007–08, the Vidarbha Arthashastra Parishad decided to publish a research journal named Arthamimansa. The first volume was published in 2008 at the annual conference held at Anjangaon Surji (District Amravati). Arthamimansa is a bi-annual research journal published regularly by the Parishad.
  • 3 Dr. D. V. Jahagirdar, retired Reader in Economics from Amravati University, has been the editor of the journal since its inception. The journal publishes research articles in Marathi, English, and Hindi.
  • 4 In the last ten years, the journal has received financial assistance for three years from the ICSSR, Regional Centre Mumbai.
  • 5 The objectives of publishing this research journal are manifold. The primary objective is to encourage teachers and researchers to write research articles, providing a platform for both newcomers and experienced scholars.
  • 6 Apart from research papers on various issues, book reviews are also published. The editorial board selects important contemporary and historical themes and invites peer-reviewed articles from experts. Special articles have been published on topics such as the Tendulkar Committee Report, 14th Finance Commission Recommendations, Kelkar Committee Report (2013), Brexit, MSP for agricultural produce, and the Maharashtra Human Development Report.
